Alone by Edgar Allen Poe

Sarah Furtick English 201 Dr. Hornbuckle October 18, 2012 Close Reading One of my favorite poets is Edgar Allen Poe beca interpretation I am captivated by the darkness he illustrates in totally of his numberss. One poem of Poes that I personally lie with is his poem Alone. The poem paints a run across of a person who, no issuance what, can non conform to the good in his witness bearing. No matter if the temperateness is shining or if its raining, he provided timbers hopelessness. I feel that Poes use of words in this poem is elicit because he is present such a negative perspective of carriage. In his poem Alone, Edgar Allan Poe defines the life of a person in deep despondency using dark, Gothic words and symbolism. In the first 12 lines of the poem, the vocalizer looks back on his life as a child. He tells of how he was alone, isolated, and distinguishable from everyone else almost him. (Line 1, 2) He was an un necessityed who did non fit in with the othe rs in his life. When others axiom goodness, he did not. When others were keen, he was not. When others saw beauty, he did not. He was unlike because he could not see life the same elan as others. Instead of seeing the positive in life, the speaker was only capable of focusing on the bad and evil.
